Become a mentor

Would you like to share your own experiences of working life with Aalto University students or startups? Do you want to develop your interaction skills and be challenged with new and insightful perspectives? As a mentor, you can use your experience and skills for good while also learning something new yourself.

Mentoring is a two-way interaction process in which the mentor acts as a sounding board for the actor. Mentoring also gives the mentor a lot, as evidenced by the hundreds of annual mentor volunteers!

You can become a mentor for a master's student in the Aalto University student-alumni mentoring programme, a sparring partner for a startup in Startup Center's mentoring programme, or a group mentor for an international group of students through your company in the Aalto International Talent program.

Become a mentor for a master´s student

The Aalto University Mentoring Programme connects students and alumni to facilitate career design and self-development. For the mentor, the programme offers an opportunity to reflect on one's own skills and experience, a view of today's student world, contacts with other alumni and the joy of helping out.

Coach a startup

Share your experience as an entrepreneur and join the Aalto Startup Center's mentoring program. A successful mentoring relationship can, in the best case scenario, change a young entrepreneur's life. It is your experience, advice and know-how that can be invaluable.

Support a group of international students

The Aalto International Talent program brings together Finnish companies and international students. The goal of the group mentoring program is to introduce students to Finnish working life and support their employment in Finland. Alumni can register as a mentor in the program through their employer organization.
