International Design Business Management

IDBM is an interdisciplinary programme organised in collaboration with all Aalto schools. The International Design Business Management minor programme builds on prior studies in the areas of business, design, and technology by enabling and encouraging students to further develop and integrate their knowledge in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams.

The IDBM minor programme is available for all master level students of Aalto through separate application. The application period for IDBM minor is yearly May 15–31. If you are interested in the minor, please send your application by email to Johanna Rametta. The application should include your motivation letter (1 page), CV (1-2 pages), transcript of records, and personal study plan that indicates that the minor has been approved as a part of your study plan. The minor aims to provide participants with an opportunity to develop their competences and capabilities to successfully undertake creative teamwork, concept development, product, service and business design as well as project management through industry collaboration and tailor-made courses in design business management. 

The minor consists of compulsory introductory course JOIN-E7009 IDBM Challenge 6 cr and alternative courses. Students can choose JOIN-E7007 IDBM Capstone: Industry Project 15 cr as one of the alternative courses of the minor.

The minor consists of compulsory introductory course JOIN-E7006 IDBM Challenge 5 cr and alternative courses of 20 cr. The aim of the minor programme is to provide participants with the competence and capability to successfully undertake creative teamwork, concept development, business modelling and project management through industry collaboration and a tailor made course in international design business management.
