Professor Dr. Andra Blumberga and Docent Dr. Dzintars Jaunzems from Riga Technical University, Latvia will give visiting lectures on a two-day seminar called “Dynamic Energy Systems Modelling and Heat Pumps in Energy Efficient Buildings”. Dr. Blumberga’s lectures are related to dynamic en-ergy systems modelling and Dr. Jaunzems on role of heat pumps in energy efficient buildings and also on the possibility to use Energy Service Companies (ESCO) in energy-related renovation of multi-family buildings.

Program:
Monday 20.4.2015
9.00-12.00 Dynamic System modelling, Dr. Andra Blumberga

  •  System dynamics as modeling technique and tool for non-linear, dynamic, complex systems with delays.
  • Modelling process of system dynamics.

13.00-16.00 Heat pumps in energy efficient buildings, Dr. Dzintars Jaunzems

  • Role of heat pumps – a key technology in the context of energy efficient buildings
  • The most common types of heat pumps in the residential sector
  • Low temperature heating systems
  •  Technology in focus – ground source heat pumps
  • Heat pumps with vertical probes

Tuesday 21.4.2015
9.00-12.00 Dynamic System modelling, Dr. Andra Blumberga

  • Generic system structures and behaviours.
  • Application of system dynamics and case studies for energy and environment systems and problems.

13.00-16.00 Heat pumps in energy efficient buildings, Dr. Dzintars Jaunzems

  • Continuing --> Technology in focus – ground source heat pumps
