The student within the field of science and technology has under certain conditions the opportunity to continue his/her studies in another school and degree programme than his/her original study right was valid for.
Students who began their studies on or after 1 August 2016
The principles of students’ rights to continue studies in another Aalto University school of technology apply to the students that have begun their studies on or after 1 August 2016. If a student’s study right has begun 1 August 2015, but the student has enrolled as a non-attending student according to the university's policy for statutory reasons (military or civil service, maternity, paternity or parental leave, illness or disability) in the first academic year, and then has enrolled as an attending student in the second academic year, the student's studies are considered to have begun on 1.8.2016.
Transfers between different schools of technology, but in a programme leading to the same degree, may occur between the Bachelor’s and the Master’s degree stage in one of the following ways (procedural options 1, 2, 3 or 4):
N:o | Transfer procedure |
---|---|
1 | The programme sets no prerequisites for BSc – MSc transfer. The student may come from any Bachelor’s programme in the field of technology. |
2 | The student must complete a minor, which is stipulated in advance, as part of the BSc degree. |
3 | The student must complete a minor, which is stipulated in advance, as part of the BSc degree, and meet a minimum grade requirement, which is also indicated in advance. |
4 | Transfer procedure differs from the abovementioned |
