Geopolitics of Business and Technology
In a world characterized by rapid technological advancements, economic interdependence, and shifting political landscapes, the themes of geopolitics and security have become increasingly significant. This theme explores the strategic and security dimensions of global interactions, considering both traditional and non-traditional threats. CKIR's projects aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of global political dynamics and security challenges.
The following projects fall under this theme.
Mobile is Global
Mobile is Global is a collaborative project that will be executed by CKIR and Economic Research (Etla). The ongoing geopolitical changes are creating uncertainty about how the new geopolitics influence the 5G and 6G industry and the Finnish innovation ecosystem.
This project will not only assess the new geopolitical realities but also offer a roadmap to lessen the uncertainty and provide clear recommendations for paths forward for both policymakers and industry.
The project spans a timeperiod of 2024-2026.

Cyber Citizen
Cyber Citizen is a three-year project that aims to improve the EU's cybersecurity by teaching Europeans how to be cybersecure in their everyday lives.
The project consists of 1) a mobile game where you can play a cybercriminal and learn to be more aware of the different types of attacks and their motives, and 2) a portal with courses to learn how to protect yourself against these attacks.
The project runs between 2022-2024.
