This speculative design endeavour envisions a future scenario where Google introduces a unique "mortal" service, set in a distant and dystopian era. The project takes shape as a video log, offering insight through the eyes of a 2098 citizen. Within the video, the citizen delves into the prevailing global conditions and the corresponding belief systems. Central to the narrative is the profound impact of one's digital identity on personal existence and its potential ramifications on life beyond. The project also contemplates the evolving concepts of divinity and spirituality in the context of an evolving future. This exploration prompts contemplation on the ever-deepening integration of our digital personas into daily existence and raises questions about the trajectory of this trend – will it plateau, or endure indefinitely? With Google Mortal Services, when you die your data will be uploaded to your tombstone and will be deleted from the active world server, the tombstone will be located at the Google Mortal Complex opened in several cities around the world. You create a questionnaire for the visitors to fill in if they get 100 per cent of the answers correct, they will be able to access the other side of you and know you better after you die, that is your google activities, photos, music, search results, websites visited and transactions, most said words, body statistics over the years and much more.
