andres.lucero[at]aalto.fi
Andrés Lucero earned a PDEng (Professional Doctorate in Engineering) in User-System Interaction and a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, both from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in The Netherlands. His work focuses on the design and evaluation of novel interaction techniques for mobile devices and other interactive surfaces, which has been published in over 100 scientific peer-reviewed publications. His research interests include human-computer interaction, design, and play. Prior to joining Aalto University, he was Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher at Nokia, and Associate Professor of Interaction Design at the University of Southern Denmark.

Doctoral Researchers
Emrecan Gulay
After completing his M.A. in Architecture at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in the UK, Emrecan joined Aalto University and Embodied Design Group in 2017. Emrecan worked in several architectural practices as an architect and a design specialist. His ongoing doctoral research looks into the changing role of physical with the continuous digitalization in architecture. His research aims to form a link between physical and digital design processes through a feedback-oriented approach in the initial design stages.

Felix Anand Epp
Felix A. Epp received his MA in Media Direction at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany in 2014. Based on his education in Interaction Design and Media Technology he worked as a design practitioner, CSCW researcher at Fraunhofer SIT and as visiting lecturer for interactive technologies at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. In 2017 he joined Aalto University as a Doctoral Candidate in Human-computer Interaction, both in EDG and in the Arts & Magic group at the Computer Science Department. He applies a mix of practice-based methods to investigate novel digital technologies from an embodied and practise-oriented design perspective. His doctoral research deals with issues around self-expression and social interaction with wearable technology using codesign, ethnography and field studies.

Mary Karyda
Mary Karyda, in her doctoral research, explores self-reflection through meaningful representation of personal in physical forms. Her former training as an artist in combination with her background in design research allows her to follow a research through design approach. Her main research interests relate to data physicalization, personal informatics, everyday objects, meaningfulness and self-reflection.
