Apply funding for your diversity and inclusivity initiative
We encourage our community members to apply for funding for their EDI initiatives with a low threshold. No initiative is too small to advance equal opportunities. The application period is open on April 1 - April 30, 2024.
Who can apply?
The students and staff of the School of Electrical Engineering can apply for the funding. Whether it's a small or big initiative, network meeting, seminar series, creative project, mentorship scheme, public events - be brave and apply! The most important thing is that the funded project supports equality, diversity and inclusion at Aalto.
When can I apply?
The application period is open from April 1 until April 30. Awarded projects will be announced mid-May and should start by December 2024 at the latest.
In case there is funding left after the first application round the school may consider opening a second round in November.
How much funding can I get?
The budget for a single project should not exceed 4 000 euros. The school has reserved up to 8 000 euros for the projects.
How can I apply?
- All projects must abide by the Aalto Code of Conduct.
- This funding is not intended to cover already existing activities.
- The proposals will be evaluated based on their potential EDI impact. In addition, we can take into account their impact across department or student guild borders. An impactful project could provide substantial help to a small group, or a small amount of help to a large group.
- Applications will be judged by a subcommittee of the School of Electrical Engineering EDI group and final decisions will be approved by the Dean.
- Salaries are funded only in very exceptional cases, so please contact us (information below) before sending your proposal if this is what you need funding for.
- Possible communication and/or marketing of the project is agreed upon with the communication services of the school.
- Notice that the School of Science has a corresponding Fund open at the same time April 1 - April 30. Projects involving both schools are encouraged.
- The judging subcommittee is happy to consult and assist with proposals before submitting, and potential applicants are encouraged to talk with us before making a proposal. See our contact information below!
