Aalto University Future of Work launches a series of interviews called Back to Work Sessions – How do we together build a more socially Sustainable Future of Work.

How can we work in a more socially sustainable way? How to approach work in a socially sustainable way and build individual, organizational and societal resilience, maintain dignity and humanity at work, take care of our thinking and our brains, lead in a more sustainable manner and generally better nurture our mental, physical, emotional sides whilst at work? Our selected experts will each give us their take on this matter and deep-dive into their expertise areas. Read more about the Back to Work Sessions here.

Welcome to Aalto University's new interview series Back to Work Sessions –How do we together build a more socially sustainable future of work?. The interview series is an initiative by Aalto University's Future of Work and is open for everyone on Youtube, as well as, a limited amount of guests in person.

The second event will take place on Thursday, October 14th at 15:00 EEST with well-known professor and philosopher Esa Saarinen as our guest. Under the umbrella theme of the future of work and how to be more resilient and sustainable in relation to work, Esa will tackle this from a more thinking based philosophical perspective. The interview is moderated by Research Director Hertta Vuorenmaa. The event language is Finnish.

The next interview will take place in November and our guest will be neurologist and professor, Kiti Müller. Professor Jari Hakanen will join us in December. Then we will start the new year off well in January with Senior Performance Coach Heikki Huovinen at Hintsa Performance and will discuss how to maintain both physical and mental wellbeing at work.

Esa Saarinen, a philosopher, Coach, author and Professor Emeritus at Aalto University, lectured at Aalto for 20 years. His lectures gathered thousands of listeners, amongst them were some of Finland's elite in economics, science and business. Among his many accolades is the fact that at the age of 24 he became one of the youngest people in Finland to defend his doctoral thesis on logic and the philosophy of language.

Back to Work Sessions – How do we build a more socially Sustainable Future of Work

The Back to Work Sessions is an add-on to the Future of Work open online course by Aalto University. The course is open for everyone and looks at how the roles of the individual, organisations and society have changed and how it affects how we work today and in the future.
