Equal career paths for all genders – NOW!
The equal career paths (NOW!) project aims to support and promote equal employment and career development of all genders. At Aalto University this project focuses on the field of technology, and uses a Service Design methodology and a design process in order to discover and show tech students' and alumni's gendered experiences in studies and their early careers. These methods are also used to co-create solutions that promote equal employment and career development with university policies, culture and services – especially in career counselling and support. In this event, Service Designer Riikka Jääskeläinen presents the results of the project’s first stages, and a concept for a service solution that will be piloted in the next phases of the project. In addition, we will discuss challenges specific to the academic career path.
NOW! project is funded by the European Social Fund (Leverage from the EU 2014-2020) and coordinated by Tampere University of Applied Sciences TAMK. Project partners include three Universities (Aalto, LUT and Tampere), five Universities of Applied Sciences (TAMK, JAMK, Haaga-Helia, Laurea and OAMK) and the trade union Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK.
