The title of the thesis: Median plane localisation - psychoacoustics and spatial audio effects

Doctoral student: Taeho Kim
Opponent: Prof. Virginia Best, Boston University, United States
Custos: Prof. Ville Pulkki, Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering, Department of Information and Communications Engineering

This study focuses on our perception of sound's vertical position and how to create the illusion of sound in such positions using spatial audio processing techniques. The research investigates the effect of spectral cues on sound localisation in the median plane and proposes a novel approach to simulate sound elevation using relative HRTF envelope filters.
