Exquisite Corpse workshop

Exquisite Corpse targets adults with basic hand-sewing skills interested in the deconstruction of the concept and materiality of the human body. Using recycled fabrics, we'll craft body parts forming a collective sculpture. Participants engage in cutting, sewing, and assembling, fostering teamwork and exploring new ways of thinking the image of their own bodies. The workshop deepens individual and collective creativity, embracing errors as part of the creative process, it encourages exploration within a supportive space.
Maintenance Repair workshop

In this workshop we will repair a garment based on its attitude, in an effortless manner. The workshop focuses on maintenance-based repairs. This can vary from basic maintenance to minimal pattern-making, replicating an already existing forms of basic clothing items and accessories, like pants or a shirt with signs of wear.
Bring a washed clothing item that needs to be repaired and some supplies of your choice to perform its repair. (This can be a preferred sewing thread or extra fabric similar to the item being repaired). You may also need tools like ruler, scissors, pattern making paper and a pen. Anyone with patience is welcome.

As we delve into the transformative potential of mending as a radical act of care, we'll challenge conventional paradigms and foster connections between individuals and their garments, as well as with the broader environment.

Applique Mending Workshop for Socks and Clothes

Do you have holes in your favourite socks or other garments that are difficult to mend with a sewing machine? Learn a new method of mending and turn your socks into a canvas for a fun art project.
In this workshop, we will patch old socks (or other clothing items) using jersey scraps and simple hand sewing techniques. This method works best for cotton socks and other materials that can withstand the heat of ironing. Feel free to bring your own item to mend; additional materials will be provided during the workshop.

In our workshop, we'll teach you how to reuse your pants and create something new. We'll provide you with a pattern, instructions, and guidance to help make your dream crossbody bag a reality. For this workshop it is helpful if you have previous sewing machine skills. We look forward to sewing with you!

CARE FOR CLOTHES invites all interested in mending and fixing of e.g., ill-fitting, stained, holey or torn clothes, that during the everyday busyness have been forgotten. Let’s take time to take care for our clothes while taking care of ourselves ♡.
The interactive workshop contents, subject to the participants needs, learning basic mending tricks, developing alternative repair methods and/or sharing proven-to-be-good techniques to one another.
Come as you are - no previous sewing background or knowledge is needed. The only thing you need to bring with you is a piece of clothing/accessory, that needs some extra love and care.

Actionable stories – Why do I upcycle/recycle? Pop-in workshop

This activity focuses on the end (and a new beginning) of garment stories. You get to handpick different end-of-life garments and think about which ones can be upcycled and which ones should be recycled while learning more about these terms and how they can create a new beginning for the garment's story. Share your thoughts with others by creating your own story-tags for the garments. This workshop runs all day, pop-in any time, stay as long as you like!
MATERIAL LIBRARY workshop

Material Library is a three-part workshop that explores textile materialities, knowledge and systems, and desirable futures in spring-light, experiential ways. It invites to sense, ask questions, and imagine. Currently, our knowledge on textile materialities is driven by visuals and information, and in the workshop we explore the possibility of tactility as a missing component of knowledge in our relations with textiles.
Anyone interested in textiles, futures and knowing is welcome.

Quilting workshop

Join us for a creative and engaging quilt workshop! In this session, participants will immerse themselves in the world of quilting. We kick off with a presentation on basic quilting techniques and tips. We will then spend 20 minutes drawing inspiration from an object of your choice, sparking your creativity. The majority of the workshop will be dedicated to hands-on quilting, where you will get to practice your skills and create your own patchwork. Homework instructions will be provided at the end to further develop your quilting skills. Hoping to see you for a fun and productive quilting experience!
