Take it or leave it - a recycling event open to all

Each of us can be part of an important change towards a more sustainable future. Did you know that approximately 70,000 tons of clothing and textiles are consumed annually in Finland.

Take it or leave it!

A recycling point open to everyone is available in the main lobby of the Undergraduate Centre (Otakaari 1) throughout the week of September 9th to September 13th 2024, during the building's opening hours. We take a concrete step towards a more sustainable future by bringing our own used textiles, accessories, books, and small items for recycling.

If you have textiles that have reached the end of their lifecycle or are otherwise suitable for recycling, you can place them in a separate trolly. However, please note that we do not accept moldy or damp textiles. Small stains are not a problem. Textiles for disposal should ideally be packed in plastic bags.

At the end of the event, all remaining textiles and items will be transferred to the Recycling Center (in Finnish), which will handle their sale or other forms of recycling.
