A total of two million open-heart surgeries are performed each year. These procedures expose the heart to the risk of ischemic damage due to lack of oxygen. Various strategies exist to shield the heart from ischemic injury.

Yet, without the insights provided by real-time monitoring, these protective measures may fall short of their full potential. The most common complication following open heart surgery is the post-operative low cardiac output syndrome.

SpectroCor™ provides comprehensive real-time monitoring of myocardial oxygenation during the heart repair. It helps to plan and verify adequate myocardial protection and to optimize operative workflow. By enhancing quality control of heart operations, SpectroCor™ reduces complications and saves lives.
