Language Certificates
Please note that as of November 2025, exchange planners/coordinators are the ones writing the language certificates (not the Language Centre). They can write you an English certificate based on the following:
1. You have completed an English course at Aalto
2. You are studying in an English-speaking programme
3. You have not completed an English course at Aalto, but you have a matriculation examination grade for A-level English. The CEFR level is dependent on the grade. At least a C is required for CEFR B2.
4. You have not completed an English course at Aalto, but you have graduated from an IB diploma programme.
5. You have a valid IELTS or TOEFL score
Who to contact for the language certificate?
https://www.aalto.fi/en/other-studies/contact-information-for-outgoing-exchanges
Students from CHEM, ELEC, ENG and SCI can find the contact person for each exchange destination here https://aalto.adv-pub.moveon4.de/tech-destination-database/
If you are not sure who to contact, then get in touch with the exchange planner/coordinator of your own school and they will direct you to the right person.
