About the minor
Target group: All MSc students with sufficient prerequisite knowledge. The minor is intended for students who do not have Applied Mathematics or Systems and Operations Research as their master’s level major.
The goal of the minor is to equip students with the knowledge and skills for applying methods of systematic problem structuring and mathematical modelling to address complex industrial, managerial, economic, and environmental problems. Such methods help to contribute to the attainment of key objectives such as improved cost-efficiency, profitability, quality of service, safety, and sustainability. Key applications areas include finance, manufacturing, transportation, defense, energy, environment, services, and healthcare. The demand for graduates in Systems and Operations Research is growing with an increasing number of employment opportunities offered by firms, consultancies, research institutes and the public sector.
Content
The topics include optimization, simulation, dynamic systems, decision modeling, statistics, forecasting and risk analysis.
