About the minor
Organising unit: Unit of Transdisciplinary Arts Studies (TAITE)
Description of the minor
The minor gives the student an opportunity to study the city both in theoretical as well as more practical art‐related ways. During the courses of the minor we will discuss the human‐environment relationship, how technologies mediate the urban experience, as well as observe the city through one's own artistic practice. The courses of the minor will utilize theoretical and artistic work methods.
Intended learning outcomes
After the completion of the minor the student knows how to critically observe the urban environment and contemporary themes related to it. The student accumulates and deepens understanding of the city as a phenomena through artistic work. The student learns to analyse and apply recent theoretical concepts and to put them in perspective in relation to the contemporary challenges of their own field. They grasp how the concepts of art and technology build understanding of different types of environments and how we act in them.
