Aalto University's marine technology ranked 22nd globally
Aalto University once again performed outstandingly in the prestigious ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects which compares universities around the world across various disciplines. In this year’s ranking Aalto University’s marine technology was placed 22nd globally. Additionally, a total of seven fields at Aalto University were ranked among the top 100 worldwide. These fields were marine / ocean engineering, business administration, telecommunications engineering, civil engineering, mining & mineral engineering, library and information science, and electrical & electronic engineering.
ShanghaiRanking is a subject-specific global ranking that has been published since 2017. It evaluates universities in 55 subjects across the natural sciences and engineering, as well as medical, social and life sciences. Criteria for the ranking include the quality and impact of research, top-level research, international collaboration, and academic recognition and leadership positions. This year, the comparison included 1,900 universities from 96 countries and regions. The fields of art and design, which are important to Aalto University, were not included in the comparison.
