A water supply canal will be excavated at the Jokeri Light Rail site on Otaniementie from Tuesday 26 January 2021. The excavations are expected to last until Friday 29th January. The exact location of the site is at the intersection of Otaniementie and Otakaari, close to Otaniemi's old shopping center.

Blasting is being done in the excavations. NOTE! The excavation intervals of the water supply channel have been tightened. The blasts will take place from Wednesday 26th January to Friday 29th January from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to the tightened blasting interval, the resulting vibrations are smaller. The works will be completed by Friday, January 29, 2021.

We will notify you separately if the blasting times change.

The excavation is estimated to generate vibrations similar to or less than those in the excavations in summer 2020 on the Lämpömiehenkuja side of Otaniementie. Vibration values are monitored with vibration meters placed on the site.

Excavations will also be announced via SMS about an hour before the blast. More information and instructions on joining the messaging service can be found on https://raidejokeri.info/tilaa-tekstiviesti-ilmoitukset-raide-jokerin-louhinnoista/ (only in Finnish).
