Times HIgher Education ranking sijoitus 79

Aalto University’s Computer Science is at 79th place in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021 by subject. Last year, Aalto’s ranking in this subject was 66th..

Aalto was the first among the Nordic universities. The University of Oxford remains world number one for computer science in a top ten otherwise dominated by six US-based institutions.

In Engineering, Aalto placed in the range of 101–125. Last year Aalto’s ranking in this field was 126-150. The top of the engineering table is dominated by the US, however, as Oxford drops from second to sixth place. Harvard, Stanford and Berkeley now take the top three spots with virtually the same scores as last year.

Times Higher Education is one of the world's most influential university rankings, and its general ranking measures the performance of universities with 13 indicators in the areas of international research, citations, teaching and research funding from companies.

Specific rankings are more relevant to Aalto University than the general rankings, as Aalto specialises in technology, business and arts. Depending on the calculation method, there are approximately 17 000–22 000 universities in the world.
