Making engaging educational videos – how to get started?

In 2020 Aalto Online Learning witnessed higher than ever demand for video production. In just few last years educational videos have made their way from being a niche activity to a must-do in teaching. As of 2021 it is clear: the educational videos are here to stay.
Educational video production

To help our educators make great videos, Aalto Online Learning has launched a new short video series on Educational Video Production with Yulia Guseva. It is now available on the Aalto University’s internal Workday Learning as a digital course.

Yulia has been working in the field of educational video production for 6+ years. In the new video series she is sharing her insights and practical tips.

We prepared and designed the videos targeting both

1. educators who are creating their videos for the first time and simply need help to get started

2. educators who have made some videos also earlier but would like to learn more about good  practices and enhance their video production skills

In this series of videos we will look into the video production process and explore what happens at each stage. We will draw your attention to common pitfalls and highlight key elements needed to make a successful video.

Our assumption is that you shoot your videos either with the help of a videographer or in a self-service studio so we will not cover the technical details of camera & lights setup and editing.
