School of Arts, Design and Architecture gets new professors for the departments of Architecture, Art and Media, Film and Design.

Department of Architecture

  • Matti Kuittinen has been appointed as Associate Professor (tenured) in Sustainable Building Construction from 1.6.2023
  • Panu Savolainen has been appointed as Assistant Professor (level 2) in History of Architecture and Architectural Conservation from 1.10.2022 for a fixed term of four years
  • Agatino Rizzo has been appointed as Professor in Urban and Regional Planning from 14.8.2023 


Department of Film

  • Rauno Ronkainen has been appointed as Associate Professor (tenured) in Cinematography from 1.2.2023 

 
Department of Design

  • Julia Lohmann has been appointed as Associate Professor (tenured) in Contemporary Design from 1.3.2023 
  • Maarit Mäkelä has been appointed as Professor in Practice-led design research  from 1.7.2023 
  • Marco Steinberg has been appointed as Professor in Practice in Strategic and industrial design for five years from 1.8.2023
  • Anna Valtonen has been appointed as part-time Adjunct Professor in Strategic design from 1.9.2023

  • Lucy Davis has been appointed as Associate Professor (tenured) in Contemporary Art from 1.7.2023 
  • Astrid Huopalainen has been appointed as Assistant Professor (level 1) in Leadership for Creativity for three years from 1.1.2023. The professorship is shared between the Department of Art and Media in ARTS (40 %) and the Department of Management Studies in BIZ (60 %).
  • Anniina Suominen has been appointed as Professor in Art pedagogy from 1.5.2023
  • Juuso Tervo has been appointed as Assistant Professor (level 2) in Arts-based Pedagogy and Research for four years from 1.6.2023
