Tenure track positions allocated to the Schools, June 2017

President Tuula Teeri has decided on 6 June 2017 to allocate the following tenure track positions to Aalto’s Schools

School of Engineering (4 positions)

  • Department of Mechanical Engineering: 1 position
  • Department of Built Environment: 1 position  
  • Department of Civil Engineering: 2 positions

School of Business (2 positions)

  • Department of Economics: 1 position
  • Department of Information and Service Economy: 1 position

School of Chemical Engineering (3 positions)

  • Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems: 1 position
  • Department of Chemistry and Materials Science: 1 position
  • Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering: 1 position

School of Science (7 positions)

  • Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis: 1 position
  • Department of Applied Physics: 1 position
  • Department of Computer Science: 4 positions
  • Department of Industrial Engineering and Management: 1 position

School of Electrical Engineering (1 position)

  • Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering: 1 position

School of Arts, Design and Architecture (5 positions)

  • Department of Architecture: 1 position
  • Department of Architecture and Department of Design: 1 joint position
  • Department of Film, Television and Scenography, Department of Media and Department of Art: 1 joint position
  • Department of Design: 2 positions.

The tenure track professorships have a significant role in developing research and teaching at Aalto University. Recruiting professors to these positions will help shape the future of the University for a long time and a substantial part of the funding of the University is directed to the Schools via these professorships.
