The application of in situ testing to evaluate the load-bearing capacity of piles is a commonly adopted practice. Nevertheless, in Estonia, there exists a notable absence of correlations between the load-bearing capacity of piles and the data acquired from soundings. This issue is particularly pronounced in difficult soil conditions, such as those encountered in ancient valleys, where accurately assessing the load-bearing capacity of a pile poses a considerable challenge. To address this issue, data from CPT, CPTu, SCPTu, DCPT, and SDT soundings, along with static pile load data from three types of cast in situ displacement piles (screw piles)—namely Fundex, DSP, and FDP piles in silty soils—were thoroughly analysed.HIIT Special Seminar: Rong Zhu and Sumita Sharma
