Dr. Kari Tanskanen is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University School of Science, Finland. His current research interests include supply chain integration, management of strategic buyer-supplier relations, and supply management. His previous work has focused, among others, on e-business logistics, vendor managed inventory, and logistics services.

He has supervised 15 doctoral theses and over 200 masters’ theses, and he has been responsible director of over 10 large research projects (0,5 – 1,5 million Euros) with more than 100 Finnish firms from different industries. He has published his research in for example, Research Policy, International Journal of Production and Operations Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Logistics, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, and Production Planning and Control.
