Matti Sarvimäki is Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at Aalto University and Helsinki Graduate School of Economics, and part-time Associate Research Professor at the VATT Institute for Economic Research. He is a labor economist but also works in other areas of economics and multidisciplinary projects. Matti's ongoing work examines immigration, social mobility, education, the labor market impacts of international trade and household finance.

Matti graduated from the Helsinki School of Economics in 2009. He has been a researcher at the London School of Economics and a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University College London.
