Master's Programme in Life Science Technologies

Practical training in the majors BIOINFO, BME, BIOSENS, CS, and NEURO

Work experience in master's degree

  • It is possible to include 1–10 ECTS gained from work experience in the master’s degree.
  • Work experience is included in the elective studies. It is also possible to include maximum of 5 ECTS of work experience in SCI majors (Bioinformatics and Digital Health, Biomedical Engineering, Complex Systems and Human Neuroscience and Technology), provided that the work experience meets the intended learning outcomes of the major.
  • Please note that if you include course JOIN-A0003 Contributing in Community (3 ECTS) in your degree, only 7 ECTS of work experience is accepted in the degree.
  • A maximum of 10 ECTS of work experience can be included in the degree. This 10 ECTS includes work experience included in the elective studies, work experience included in the major, and the course JOIN-A0003 Contributing in Community.
  • Work experience is not mandatory but recommended.
  • Work experience can be done either in Finland or abroad.
  • Work experience has to be related to the programme's studies.
  • As a rule, duties performed in the student’s home university, or while holding a position of trust, or student’s own projects are not accepted as practical training
