Matthew Allinson has joined the School of Science as communications specialist

Matthew Allinson previously worked at King’s College London as communications & engagement manager for the school of Biomedical Engineering. He's got a background in research having done a PhD in physics at Imperial College London on printable photovoltaic materials.

Whilst working on the doctorate he found he was better at talking about other peoples’ research than doing his own, and moved into Science Communication after finishing.

Matthew enjoys hiking, playing music (guitar, bass, oboe, accordion), hacking stupid things with raspberry Pis and cricket. He's looking forward to working with you on sharing your research with the wider world.
