Grant researcher's right to an employment relationship
Grant researchers conducting research at Aalto University can be offered a part-time employment contract of at least 10 percent. This practice has been in effect since September 1, 2022.
The offer applies to all Aalto affiliated grant researchers (doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers) who hold a grant of at least 12 months. The 12-month period may consist of several shorter grant periods.
The grant has to be a so-called working grant that is intended for full-time research/artistic work, and allows simultaneous part-time employment at the university. The employment contract also requires some further conditions to be met, e.g. for social security requirements. The employment relationship is voluntary, and the grant holder can choose whether to accept the offer or not.
