Description

The Master's Programme in Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT) is for engineers who want hands-on experience in solving real-world energy challenges. Master's in Sustainable Systems is where you can learn how to make a real contribution to minimising the environmental impact of current and future energy systems. When joining this winning #3 programme in catergory, Energy and Natural Resources in Western Europe (EdUniversal Best Masters Ranking 2024), students learn to address societal challenges with technical solutions. The programme also explores the part played by innovation and commerce, giving students an understanding of the role and responsibility of engineers in a more sustainable energy industry.

Language of instruction

The language of instruction of the programme is English.

Structure of studies

You will join students from all over the world at two different universities and one of  Europe's leading business schools. You will study the first year either at KTH, UPC or TU/e and continue the second year in another partner university, specializing in the topic of your choice. At Aalto you will focus on Circular Economy in Energy Systems, or may choose a wider view on energy. Read more on the SELECT website in InnoEnergy Master School.

Research focus

Aalto University Energy Engineering research

Energy efficiency plays a key role in solving challenges related to developing a sustainable future for human societies, highlighting the need to optimise energy systems of all sizes.

Energy Conversion. Development of combustion technologies is central in reducing the emissions of energy production, particularly in the transition towards new biomass-based fuels. To this end, we utilise both empirical and computational thermodynamics.
