Embodied Forest by Samanta Kajėnaitė
What is a body? Can it be separated or extended?
The work represents the process of measuring with my own body. To understand the surroundings, I chose forest walks as an artistic spatial practice. Can I become a part of the forest on every walk? My body is getting used to the forest's spaces, materials, and scales. The rock is the length of my two bodies, and lichen becomes a part of my skin. I measured with my tool, my hands, and my whole body.

The path becomes a space for experiences and deep connections to nature. Embodied forest become a product of the relationships that occur within it. All senses become stronger, connections become deeper, and encounters become more meaningful
