The second biannual workshop concluded the first iteration period of the project. One of the main focuses of the event was to analyze the status of the first experimental iterations of existing materials and set up next directions to advance the existing body of knowledge.
Participating institutions:
-Aalto University (Aalto)
-University of Turku (UTU)
-VIA University College (VIA)
-University of Borås (UB)
-Iceland University of the Arts (IUA)
In addition to a seminar with short status presentations by each team, the workshop involved lab visits, ideating with samples, scenario building, and plenty of valuable discussions and interdisciplinary interactions. The public lecture was given by professor Jaana Vapaavuori (Aalto) on the topic of plant-based building blocks for climate neutral globe. The workshop ended with a nice tour around the city centre of Turku.
At the Steering Board meeting, team leaders discussed such matters as overall strategy, contractual issues, conflict resolution, fair data principles, risk assessment, as well as adjustments to the grant application. The concept of a reading club was introduced for the following iteration period to discuss relevant publications, book chapters and other materials during biweekly core team meetings.
This event was (partly) supported by NordForsk through the funding to Nordic network on smart light-conversion textiles beyond electric circuits, project number 103894.
