Beyond e-Textiles: visit to Aalto
Our cooperating partners within the 'Beyond e-Textiles' project visited Aalto University after the second biannual workshop which was organized at the University of Turku in November 2021. The programme of the visit included tours around the facilities of the School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM) and School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ARTS).
At the morning introductory session, we discussed plans for the day and reflected on the outcomes of the biannual workshop. Later on, our Nordic partners were invited to visit CHEM labs where they were demonstrated a range of research devices and setups.
In the second part of the programme, the participants relocated to the building of the ARTS School. The leader of the 'Fashion/Textiles Futures' research group Prof. Kirsi Niinimäki hosted a tour around the ARTS textiles facilities and workshops. In addition, our guests had an opportunity to visit an exhibition of student works showcased at the time in Väre building (ARTS).
The visit concluded with a joint lunch with ideation and brainstorming. Team members of the 'ModelCom' project also participated in the visit.
