  • 17:00 – Design for Sustainability: A Multi-level Innovation Framework - İdil Gaziulusoy, Professor of Sustainable Design at Aalto University.

DesignTalks series consists of eight lectures during December 2021 – May 2022. Each event will have its own theme discussing the relevance of design in different contexts such as sustainable development, corporations, cities, business-to-business, research, accessibility, creative projects, and many more.

The series will complement and continue our introductory on-line course to design, Design Bits. The series of talks is open for everyone, but Aalto students can get one 1 ECTS study credit upon participating to all lectures and returning a learning diary.

İdil Gaziulusoy, Professor of Sustainable Design, Department of Design, Aalto University

I'm a sustainability scientist and a design researcher, developing a teaching and research portfolio for imagining sustainable, equitable and resilient future systems through various approaches in design research and developing interventions to achieve these proposals. 

Her work is concerned with socio-technical and socio-ecological systems with a particular focus on production-consumption systems and cities. She is a global pioneer in the emerging area of design for sustainability transitions, developing theories and methods/tools for design practice dealing with sustainability transitions.
