The School of Business’ Homecoming Day invited alumni to Otaniemi for the first time

The theme of the Homecoming Day was Managing Disruption. The keynote speech of the main seminar was given by Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia. The speech was followed by a discussion moderated by Vesa Puttonen, Professor of Finance, and Eeva Vilkkumaa, Assistant Professor of Management Science. They interviewed, in addition to the keynote speaker, two guest speakers: Leena Mörttinen, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, and Eerika Savolainen, CEO of Slush. The host of the day was Timo Korkeamäki, Dean of the School of Business. All the academic departments of the School of Business were represented in the versatile parallel program that followed the plenary session. The Alumnus/a of the Year was also announced. The day continued with dinner, music, dancing and delightful encounters with fellow alumni at the School of Business in Otaniemi!

The registrations are binding and non-refundable, except for the special cases mentioned below.
If the organizers cancel the event due to expelling reasons, all ticket prices will be refunded in full.
The ticket price can also be returned in the case of illness. In that event, you will need submit a copy of doctor's certificate: [email protected]. The cancellation in the case of illness must be made latest on the day of the event.
Homecoming Day is targeted for all alumni and master's students of the School of Business. The alumni community of the School of Business already has almost 20,000 members. The alumni community offers opportunities for lifelong learning, networking and building better business and a better society.
All School of Business alumni with a valid email address in the Aalto University alumni register will receive an invitation to the event. If you are a School of Business alumnus/a, but have not received the invitation or any communication from the School, please contact [email protected].
The invitations to the Homecoming Day will also be sent to all School of Business master's students.
The alumni day is held on the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo. The daytime program is held at the Undergraduate Centre on Otakaari 1 (M door) and the evening program at the School of Business on Ekonominaukio 1.
Parking spaces on campus are limited, so we recommend using public transport, e.g., metro (exit Otaniementie, not Tietotie). Detailed instructions can be found from the Journey Planner. If you arrive by car, you can check the campus parking areas here.
A guarded cloakroom is available for the Homecoming Day participants at the Undergraduate Centre and at the School of Business.
The wheelchair accessible entrance to the Undergraduate Centre can be found at the T door of Otakaari 1. After the T door, turn right and go through the corridor, and you will get to the U wing lobby, where the event is. The T door can be found on the map of the building (page 2): https://ncm28.math.aalto.fi/resource/OK1. You can get to the T door by car from the rear of Rakentajaunaukio parking space. The School of Business is wheelchair accessible.
The dress code for the event is business casual.
