Rakentajanaukio parking area to partly close temporarily

Half of the parking area at Rakentajanaukio will be closed during December 2021 due to the Helsinki Region Environmental Services (HSY) water supply renovation site. There will also be changes to pedestrian routes on the area between Undergraduate Centre and Otakaari.

HSY's water supply renovation site will take up the easternmost part of the parking area at Rakentajanaukio (nearby Rakentajanaukio 4 and Otakaari 3) during December 2021. The western part (side of the Undergraduate Centre) of the parking area will remain in use for car parking. The driving route will become two-way so that the turning point for vehicles is at the end of the parking area.

The pedestrian route will also stay the same on the eastern side of the parking area. Some pedestrian routes, on the other hand, will be closed in the green area between the Undergraduate Centre and Otakaari. Access to the Undergraduate Centre will however be maintained from Otakaari with temporary arrangements.

The area with red stripes will be reserved for site use in stages.

The construction work will start gradually in December 2021 and will stay in place for approximately one year. The main contractor is VM Suomalainen Oy.
