Aalto University Library Services provides information retrieval training to raise your skill level for finding and using quality sources of information for the various stages of your studies. As an Aalto student, you can make an appointment to get personal guidance from an information search expert specialised in your own area of interest. The service is particularly well-suited for students who are doing research, whatever their stage of their studies – bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral. The training and guidance aims to develop the ability to perform information searches independently and make the most of the Learning Centre materials for research and thesis work. Having a discussion with an information specialist gives the best and most comprehensive results, as such sessions can give tips on precision search strategies, relevant databases or how to evaluate the quality of different information sources.
