Learning outcomes

After completing the course, you will be able to

- talk about your hobbies and free time 
- talk about events in different tenses 
- write a CV and job application 
- prepare for a job interview 
- pick out key information from a job advertisement and ask for more information  
- find key information in an event announcement 
- read sales advertisements and write your own sales advertisement.

Content

- Vocabulary (leisure and hobbies, recycling, working life) 
- Plural partitive and genitive: (e.g., työntekijöitä, työntekijöiden)   
- Passive present tense (e.g., mennään, lähetetään) 
- Past tenses: simple past, present perfect and past perfect (e.g., pelasin, olen pelannut, olin pelannut) 
- Essive and translative cases (e.g., valmistuin insinööriksi, työskentelen insinöörinä)

The course requires regular attendance, active participation in class and completion of homework assignments. The weight given to the various assignments in the final grade is specified at the start of the course.

Exams

Written and oral examination. The written examinations will be held as a remote examination in MyCourses. Oral examination time will be given by the teacher. The teacher will give further information on examinations.

The written examination is on Thu 28.1.2027. No registration is required.
Re-examination will be held on Mon 22.2.2027. Please, register in Sisu on 15.2.2026 at the latest.
