Bachelor's Programme in Economics

Graduation

Graduation process

When you have completed all of your studies and submitted your thesis, it is time to graduate.

  • You must submit an application for graduation.
  • Your graduation date must fall within the time when your right to study towards the degree is active. You must also be registered as an attending student for that study right on your graduation date.
  • Please remember to budget time in advance for submitting your graduation request. You must submit your request for graduation no later than your graduation date.
  • You cannot graduate with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics and business administration on the same day.

There are graduation dates every month. The specific timetables for the different graduations are available on this page under Graduation timetables.

Additionally, the Ilkka Kontula Foundation awards incentive scholarships for academic excellence to top-performing students who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) and have earned at least 80 credits in their first three academic terms as an attending student.

For more information about the scholarships, see the heading Applications.

Continuing to Master's programmes

When you have gained admission to a Bachelor's Programme at the School of Business, you have also gained a right to study for a Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration) degree. When you are about to finish your bachelor’s degree, you should fill in the graduation request in Sisu to notify the school of your choice of master’s programme. The decision on your master’s programme will be made when you earn your bachelor’s degree.

Those graduating from a Bachelor's Programme at the School of Business do not, as a rule, have to apply to the School of Business master’s programmes. Please note that the master’s programmes in International Design Business Management, Global Management and Creative Sustainability admit students only through the master’s level admissions process annually.

You should begin planning for your master’s degree studies when you are still pursuing your bachelor's degree, because the choices you make in the bachelor’s degree have an impact on the master’s programmes that are available to you. Read more about beginning your studies in a master's programme and the criteria for different master's programmes below.
