Student project helped Deloitte capture ESG performance in company valuation
The final model developed by the students concentrated on the risk and opportunity analysis of sustainability-related topics
Deloitte is one of our oldest partners and joined the Premium Partner program as early as 2006, but in fact, the collaboration has even longer roots. The collaboration in teaching, employer branding and recruiting has been at the core of our joint and long history.
Deloitte offers a wide variety of professional services for its clients: audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, and tax and legal services. Internationally, Deloitte operates in more than 150 countries with around 457 000 professionals. In Finland, Deloitte employs 900 professionals in three locations: Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. "Due to the long and active collaboration, growing number of our new deloittees come from Aalto University.”
- Katja Müller, Deloitte
Katja Müller (Partner, Human Resources and Talent) finds important similarities in the missions of our organizations: “Aalto University helps creating solutions to major global challenges, which aligns closely with our mission as the world’s leading professional services network. At Deloitte, we usually serve our clients through multidisciplinary expert teams, where professionals from various fields collaborate. Thanks to our long-standing and active partnership with Aalto, a growing number of our new deloittees come from Aalto University."
One of the corner stones of our collaboration has always been promoting the Deloitte Trainee program, which has application periods twice a year. In addition, it is important for Deloitte to meet the students in various ways throughout the academic year and therefore they participate in many events hosted by both the university and the student organizations. Recruitment experts from Deloitte have been helping our students by preparing them for case interviews, reviewing their CVs in CV clinics and, of course, participating in the annual Aalto Talent Expo (and its predecessors). The students have noted this and have given very good feedback about Deloitte in our surveys – Deloitte has really helped them in developing their job application skills.
Deloitte has also been actively involved in teaching in various ways – providing interesting cases for courses and guest lecturers. In turn, our students have had a great opportunity to provide valuable background information for Deloitte’s business in Customized Student Business Projects.
The two biggest business areas, consulting and audit, are also the ones that usually recruit the most Trainees. However, Deloitte is a big house and has interesting opportunities for almost all current and former students in the School of Business. Deloitte also cooperates with different student organizations within Aalto University (the Prodeko, Tietokilta, Accounting, Finance, Tietokilta and Prodeko), which helps get diverse, yet also more targeted, visibility.
The application period for the Deloitte Trainee-program is usually twice a year: in the autumn and in the winter. Read more about the Trainee program here: Oletko sinä seuraava Deloitte Trainee?
