ACRIS and publication data collection
Publications and funding
Publications account for 14 % of the basic funding. The Publication Forum classification is used as a quality indicator for scientific publications. The purpose of publication metadata is also to provide a knowledge base on Finnish research activities and their societal impact.
Role of ACRIS
At Aalto University, publication data, along with data on artistic outputs, is reported to the Ministry from the ACRIS, Aalto Current Research Information System. For this reason, it is important that publications and artistic outputs are reported to the research information system as comprehensively as possible.
The division of labor between the Open Science and ACRIS team and researchers
The Open Science and ACRIS team
- imports publication data from international databases (Scopus and Web of Science)
- validates publications and artistic outputs in accordance with the national publication data collection guidelines.
Researchers
- are responsible for entering publications not indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and artistic outputs into ACRIS.
The schedule for publication data collection is announced separately each year; however, it is advisable to review and check for any missing publication data at the end of the year.
