Teaching Practice (5 ECTS)

Are you a teacher at Aalto University eager to receive feedback on your teaching and learn from your peers? This course helps you to develop your teaching competence in practical ways.
Networking Workshop

About this course

During this course you will observe your peers’ and other teachers’ teaching and give feedback on it. You will also receive feedback on your own teaching. Other themes discussed on the course are constructive feedback, developing teaching based on (peer) feedback, and constructive alignment in practice.

The course includes joint sessions with all participants and small group, observing others' teaching and independent assignments. Participating in the course requires that you have your own ongoing course concurrently with this course and you are able to join all the sessions.
 

Intended learning outcomes

After this course, you will be able to:

  • Observe and evaluate teaching in different learning environments.​
  • Examine your pedagogical approach and its implementation. ​
  • Systematically utilise feedback and self-reflection in the development of your teaching.
  • Share your pedagogical competence and good practices with the academic community​.
     

Prerequisites

  • A! Peda Intro (5 ECTS) or an equivalent introductory course to pedagogy (5 ECTS) 
  • Course design (5 ECTS) 
  • Learning and teaching in higher education (5 ECTS) 

Participants must have their own courses ongoing concurrently with this course!
