Research ethics review: Research Ethics Committee
Aalto University Research Ethics Committee is responsible for the research ethical evaluation of the university's non-medical research projects with human participants.
Research Ethics Committee ensures the ethical integrity of the university’s research projects by carrying out preliminary ethical evaluations of research plans. Academic Appeals Board processes appeals against grading of study attainment or regarding credit transfer. The EDI Committee discusses and ensures the implementation of equality, diversity and inclusion activities. Student representatives seat the Academic Appeals Board as well EDI Committee.

EDI Committee decides on needed Equality, Diversity & Inclusion actions and their implementation, and outlines the EDI plan for a 3 year period. Committee reviews activities and follows up of action plans.
Co-operation committee enhance employees’ opportunities to be heard in decision-making in workplaces and improve their position in organisational changes, especially in reduction of workforce.
DEWG develops and guides the university’s doctoral education. Student representatives seat in DEWG.
The President has appointed the Aalto University Doctoral Education Working Group, which develops the university’s doctoral education, discusses the mutual issues on doctoral education and prepares the university guidelines.
The operations of significant research infrastructures are guided and supported by own management team.
The Provost has appointed a strategic management team to support and guide Aalto University’s significant research infrastructures.
