Global warming is forcing birds to move north in the search of a cooler climate at the pace of, on average, 1,6 kilometers per year. This has resulted in certain species becoming extremely rare or disappearing completely from Southern Finland.
I started birdwatching one year before completing this project and while I cherish the birds I see, I mourn for the ones that can no longer call this place their home.
We could have been neighbours is realized in the form of a birdhouse from inside which plays an audio message I left for the birds I never got to meet.
