Artificial Intelligence, Medical Decision Making and Research Ethics, Oct 31, 2024
Description
The application of machine learning analysis into research on medical decision making raises many important questions. How should the ethicality of artificial intelligence research methods be appraised? How do artificial intelligence research methods align with ethical standards of human subject studies?
This webinar examines the intersections of artificial intelligence, medical decision making and research ethics. First, a research project utilising AI methods on medical research – the AIMind – is introduced. Second, what constitute as ethical or trustworthy AI methods in medical research is discussed. The session ends with an open Q&A.
Professor Riitta Salmelin’s research focuses on language function as an integral part of human cognition. She is a member of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (TENK) and was appointed as Aalto Distinguished Professor in 2023.
