Unsupervised Learning

How can we create an environment where diverse team members, with different backgrounds and perspectives, can thrive and collaborate effectively?

The major challenges in supervision revolve around understanding what drives people and how to create an environment where they can thrive. This can be even more difficult in diverse teams where your own personal background may have little in common with the experience of others. Cultural differences, language barriers, varying work styles, and differing expectations can all contribute to difficulties in communication, collaboration, and decision-making. In this talk, prof. Adam Foster reflects on own experiences of supervision, both as a team member and group leader, and how this guides the approach to supervision of a diverse team - still a work in progress.
