The building offers approximately 5 700 m2 of versatile spaces, such as teaching spaces, research laboratories and office spaces, designed to support both teaching and research. The building is designed to offer flexibility to the operations of the university, which enables them to adapt to various needs and future changes.
The building was designed by SARC Architects, with Max Hartman as the lead designer. The building interprets the traditional red brick facade in the Otaniemi area in a modern way. The building also utilises various metal surfaces as complementary materials.
Building of Marsio & Kide began in February 2022, to be completed in 2023-2024
The building previously known as Otakaari 2B, now called the Kide building, has a new address Konemiehentie 1.
As a result of a naming competition, the Otakaari 2B building was given a new name
The themes, artists and drafts of the new buildings' art collections were published
The foundation of the Otaniemi campus' newest buildings, Otakaari 2A and 2B, was laid on September 29. The new name of the Otakaari 2A building was also revealed at the event
