Aalto University Summer School opens the application period on 1 February 2024 for various summer courses with topics ranging from virtual reality and circular economy to data visualization and Nordic product design. The course themes aim to cater to the continuous change in working life and critical and current topics of today, such as sustainability, artificial intelligence and climate change.

Aalto University is a leading research university bringing together talent across science, art, technology and business while emphasizing internationalization. Aalto placed 47th in this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) ranking of the most international universities in the world, placing third among Nordic universities. Last year, Summer School received applications from students from 67 different countries and 75 different nationalities, which adds an incredible internationally diverse richness to the courses and programs.

Last summer, most of our courses sold out before the application deadline, which is why we have added many more courses to the curriculum this year.

“The Aalto University Summer School has grown tremendously during the past years, and after the pandemic, we have seen a huge growth in applications year by year. Last summer, most of our courses sold out before the application deadline, which is why we have added many more courses to the curriculum this year. We look forward to yet again welcoming eager learners from different nationalities and study or industry fields.”, comments Program Director at Aalto University Summer School Laura Kitinoja.

Karelia Dagnaud is a doctoral researcher at Aalto University and taught the summer course Circular Economy in the summer of 2023. Due to its popularity, the course will be held again this summer.

“Highlights from last year include designing a circular solution in a multidisciplinary, multicultural team, and company visits to see how circularity is brought to life. There is no need for prior knowledge about the Circular Economy – come with your perspectives, curiosity, and creativity to think through real-world challenges with a circular lens.”, says Karelia.
