How is the teaching experience here different from your home university?
“At my home university I primarily teach graduate students in our master’s programs. These students often have significant work experience and it is sometimes a challenge to get them to think about seeing or doing things differently from the way they have in the past. I find that the students in Mikkeli are both more open-minded in terms of alternative approaches and benefit from a significantly richer appreciation for history.”
In your opinion, what are the strengths of the BScBA Program and its 3-week module system?
“At first, I admit that I was skeptical that a quality course could be taught in a 3-week time period. I quickly learned that both I and the students benefitted from the immersive, engaging nature of an intensive course that met for several hours a day every day. I think that the basic structure of the BScBA program gives students an excellent overview of not only the big picture of business, but the relationships, pattens and trends in the business environment.”
