Master’s Programme in Energy Storage
Curriculum 2022–2024
Programme Structure
In the Master’s Programme in Energy Storage (programme code ENG219) students study for one year at each partner university, completing a minimum of 60 credits (ECTS) in one academic year. The total scope of studies is 120 ECTS.
Energy storage touches every discipline present at every step of the renewable energy value chain; it is the key to energy sustainability worldwide. Demand is becoming critical for engineers with the specialized yet transversal technical skills as well as the business and entrepreneurial talent to address new challenges, find new solutions, and And drive the global energy transition of the future.
The Master’s in Energy Storage is a new-generation learning journey that equips you with the tools to meet these challenges, and to launch a world-class career at the forefront of this most dynamic and fast-evolving space. Delivered by InnoEnergy, global pioneers in sustainable energy education, the Master’s in Energy Storage leverages a unique global network and unparalleled expertise.
The programme empowers students to:
- Master the complete array of conversion and storage technologies
- Specialise in one of two critical fields: stationary applications or electric mobility
- Build leading-edge business and entrepreneurial skills
Master’s programme in Energy Storage is a double degree programme built under the framework of EIT InnoEnergy Master School. The partner universities are Aalto University, Technical University of Lisbon (IST), and Polytechnic University of Turin (POLITO). Aalto University is an option both for the entry year and the exit year.
The Master's programme in Energy Storage is implemented jointly by Aalto University School of Engineering and School of Chemical Engineering. Student’s study right may be transferred to Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering during the Master’s thesis stage if the student’s Master’s thesis supervisor is from this school.
Curriculum for entry year students at Aalto University 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 (120–123 ECTS)
*) Harmonizing courses are agreed with the professor responsible of the programme.
**) The language course is mandatory for all students who have not completed their Bachelor degree in Finland. If TU-E4100 Startup Experience is selected, the integrated language course LC-1317 Integrated Project Communication for MSc Students (o, w) is recommended.
